A brief comment on:
Robert Noel vs Jacqueline Charles of the Miami Herald.
As much as I hate to say it, the plain truth is that there seems to be lots of drug trafficking in the Carribbean and especially in Haiti.
A few years ago, I was offered a job by American Airlines to be the business development manager in Haiti. I was all excited and notified some of my very good friends living there. They were thrill that I would be back working in Haiti, but advised me not to accept such position. Their explanation was that the drug lords of Latin America, control Haiti (civilians and government). They would threaten my life and that of my family, if I interfered with their drug trafficking on AAL aircraft inbound to Miami. I immediatly conveyed my concern to AAL who offered to provide me with personal bodyguards.
But my friends reminded me that Haiti is not a US possesioon, meaning that the US DEA or Government does not have any direct jurisdiction on Haiti soil and would never be able to guarantee my safety in such a position. Finally, I told AAL that I would be willing to travel to Haiti on a daily basis to develop business but would refrain to move there for now.
Well a few days after my interview, the US DEA made a drug raid at Miami international and proceeded with various arrest of airline employees. Needless to say that position was erased from AAL’ agenda.
The Latin drug cartels are exploiting the despicable poverty condition and the weak administration of Haiti. Haiti seems to become the hub for drug diversion to the US and Dominican Republic (where US and European tourist come).
As you may recall the President of the Dominican Republic did visit Haiti's President to discuss mutual concerns on such issue. This lucrative business has also required the need for armed protection, and the trafficking of weapons is an additional business, which unfortunately led to an additional revenue: kidnapping. This information is the opinion of both rich and poor Haitians that I interviewed.
Again don’t forget that the US Government is too busy, and Haiti is too black for any meaningful help to be given.

is another organization worth nominating for their endeavor in erecting a monument in Savanha, Georgia in honor of the many Haitian soldiers that helped America in their war of independence. The Haitian American Historical Society is leading a project to honor our forefathers who fought for American Independence at the Siege of Savannah in 1779. Savannah remembers the contributions of our forefathers and is cooperating with the Haitian American Historical Society by reserving a site for the monument.

Cuba: Fidel Castro "rapidement" de retour, selon une de ses ministres.
LA HAVANE (AFP) - Le président cubain Fidel Castro, convalescent après une grave opération, participe au processus de décision et reprendra "rapidement" son action au sommet de l'Etat, a affirmé mardi la ministre l'Industrie de base, Yadira Garcia.
"Nous nous attendons à ce qu'il soit de nouveau avec nous d'une manière plus active (...) Notre commandant fait des progrès dans son processus de récupération et participe de plus en plus aux principales décisions pour le pays. Il est attentif à tout", a déclaré la ministre à la presse.
"Nous recevons les indications, les instructions qu'il donne. Nous sommes confiants", a-t-elle ajouté.
Castro, qui aura 81 ans en juillet, a cédé le 27 juillet les rênes du pays - à titre temporaire - à son frère Raul, qui était déjà ministre des Forces armées. Un enregistrement vidéo diffusé le 30 janvier a montré Fidel Castro en bonne forme physique.
Le président bolivien Evo Morales a prévu une réapparition publique de Fidel Castro le 28 avril, à l'occasion d'une réunion à La Havane des présidents du Venezuela, de Cuba, de Bolivie et du Nicaragua lors d'une réunion de l'Alternative bolivarienne pour les Amériques (ALBA), l'association qui vise à concurrencer l'ALCA, projet de Washington de zone américaine de libre-échange.

ONA : Le gouvernement Alexis dépense illégalement les fonds de pension des ouvriers Haïtiens
Le gouvernement d'Alexis est en train de dépenser illégalement les fonds de pension des travailleurs Haïtiens. Les ouvriers Haïtiens du secteur public et prive contribuent durant leur vie active à un fond de pension se trouvant à l'ONA. Cette contribution d'environ 12% est prélevée sur leur salaire sur une période des fois dépassant trente ans. En retour l'ONA devra payé un cheque de pension aux citoyens ayant pris leur retraite. L'ONA a donc, théoriquement, dans ses caisses des millions de gourdes devant garantir le paiement des chèques de sécurité sociale des retraités.
En révisant des documents de L'ONA nous avons constaté que le gouvernement Alexis en finançant des activités politiques est en train de jeter à la poubelle les fonds de pension des ouvriers Haïtiens.
Consultez la liste partielle de ceux qui ont reçu des chèques à l'adresse suivante : www.solutionshaiti.blogspot.com En effet 21 parlementaires et autres ont reçu des sommes énormes de l'ONA pour des activités rocambolesques. C'est un scandale ! Les ouvriers Haïtiens qui ont durement travaillé pendant une vie entière mérite mieux.
De multiples questions me viennent en tête :
1. Est-ce que les fonds (des centaines de millions) devant garantir le paiement des chèques de pension des ouvriers sont toujours disponibles ou ont disparus des comptes de l’ONA?
2. Que pensent les syndicats Haïtiens du détournement des fonds de pension des ouvriers Haïtiens ?
3. Que pense le secteur patronal ?
4. Que pensent les organisations de la société civile sur le détournement des fonds de pension des ouvriers Haïtiens ?
5. Que pensent les parlementaires qui n'ont pas reçu de contributions ?
6. Que pense la Cour Supérieure des Comptes ?
7. Que pense l'UCREF ?
8. Est-ce que le parlement est dans l'incapacité de renvoyer Mr. Alexis paske neg ap touché ?
Le pouvoir donne des responsabilités qui doivent êtres sanctionnées. C’est un devoir constitutionnel, c’est un devoir citoyen. Je me demande si le parlement ne devrait pas renvoyer Jacques Edouard Alexis pour son incompétence, incapacité et irresponsabilités prouvées durant dix mois?

FIDEL CASTRO.- On aurait pu attendre six ans pour me baptiser, mais on ne pouvait attendre six ans pour me donner un nom. Et c’est là l’origine de mon nom, je le dois vraiment à un homme très riche. Pas précisément le riche grand mangeur de la Bible, parce que, en réalité, je vais dire la vérité : c’est triste de parler de gens qui sont morts depuis longtemps, mais la réputation qu’avait mon parrain en perspective était celle d’un homme très près de ses sous, excessivement avare. Je ne pense pas qu’il a rien à voir avec son prédécesseur biblique.
FREI BETTO - Non, en effet.
FIDEL CASTRO.- Et des cadeaux il m’en fit très peu, aucun dont je m’en souviens. Des prêts d’argent à mon père, oui, il en fit avec des intérêts, bien que ces derniers étaient très bas à cette époque, comparables à ceux d’aujourd’hui ; il me parait que les intérêts s’élevaient à un montant traditionnel de six pour cent que payait mon père. Avec le temps, l’ami de mon père entra dans la politique et se présenta comme un candidat à la députation. Sûrement tu vas me demander pour quel parti, ah ! pour le parti du gouvernement de ce temps, parce qu’il était toujours fidèle au parti officiel. Tu comprends ? Après, un fils fut le représentant du parti de l’opposition, et l’arrangement était complet.
Quand arrivaient les campagnes électorales, je me souviens que mon père l’appuyait dans ces dernières. Tu dois comprendre que les lecons de la démocratie je les ai recues très tôt à cette époque. Dans ma maison circulait beaucoup d’argent dans les périodes éléctorales ; l’argent ne circulait pas seulement, mais sortait de la maison pour aider l’ami de mon père dans chaque élection. Cela veut dire que mon père dépensait beaucoup de son argent pour aider le candidat. La politique était ainsi en ce temps.
Logiquement, mon père, comme propriétaire terrien, contrôlait la majorité des votes, car beaucoup de travailleurs ne savaient ni lire ni écrire ; à la campagne, travailler pour quelqu’un était déja une faveur, et résider sur les propriétés du patron était considéré comme une grande faveur., et de ce fait, le paysan, le travailleur et sa famille devaient être redevables au patron et voter pour le candidat de son choix

De ce décompte, nous avons une vision plus agrandie de ce complexe qui constitue un groupe social.
Sur le parcours général on peut voir s’élever à compétition d’amour, de justice et progrès toute une jeunesse avide de savoir, avide de s’amuser, avide de progrès, et qui attend beaucoup de ses ainés : de belles jeunes, des hommes de belle stature physique, qui réunissent à la foi des qualités morales et intellectuelles. Nous y voyons le goût et la culture, la beauté alliée à l’ambition noble. Trop belle alors est la moisson que la semence n’en est été toute aussi belle !
Ce Cercle est offert en toute bonne foi, et, pour vous le présenter, on l’a enveloppé des plus beaux sentiments : générosité et amour ! Ce cadeau peut-être maigre, modeste le présent, humble, le local logé dans des murs étroits. Mais la valeur d’un don ne se mesure pas à ses dimensions physiques. L’importance du Cercle n’existe pas, ou ne se concrétise que par la valeur de ses membres, la tenue de ses relations sociales, la présentation de son Comité.
Les Fondateurs du Cercle ont jeté des bases solides sur un sol fixe et permanent. À vous, Membres, maintenant de batir. Donnez au Cercle ce qu’il lui faut pour grandir, et un jour ce sera votre monument et votre chef-d’œuvre, ce sera la stèle qui marquera votre passage sur cette terre hospitalière, il portera votre sceau, témoignage de votre zèle et de votre foi, la ciselure de vos doigts, et il parlera de vous un jour avec fierté.
Nous passerons certainement… Mais d’autres doivent venir ; le bien que vous faites aujourd’hui, est un tribu au présent et un défi pour l’avenir. Batir n’est, certes pas, chose aisée. Mais vous le ferez, car vous êtes nobles, et vous progresserez car là ou la volonté de vaincre persiste il n’est point d’obstacle insurmontable.
Par-dessus tout, veillez à la réputation de votre Cercle. Vous arriverait-il de détecter un ami, un membre, un parent, se conduisant mal, n’attendez pas que sa conduite soit l’objet de conversations à l’extérieur. Signalez le à qui de droit pour que rectification soit faite. Et par-dessus tout, ne vous embarrassez pas du complexe des « grands noms » lorsqu’il s’agit d’un manque à l’éthique du Cercle. Celui qui porte le « grand nom » doit, surtout, et plus qu’un autre, avoir l’attitude qui en impose. Nul n’est autorisé à se servir de son nom pour se permettre arrogance et mauvaises manières, vulgarités et grivoiseries.
Dans une vie collective rien ne peut être tabou. Certes « errare humanum est ». De nos erreurs passés, nous voulons préparer un avenir plus certain. Il est courant de dire : « Seuls, ceux qui ne font rien ne commettent pas d’erreurs. » Mais puisque des erreurs doivent être commises, au nom de tous les membres de cette organisation, que vous n’en commetiez aucune qui soit préjudiciable à ce CERCLE.
